Oh to be young and innocent again. Frankly, I’m glad I didn’t know then what I know now. What kid wants to be burdened with all of this knowledge about adulting in our crazy world? I’m grateful to have grown up without social media, without The Kardashians, without an iPhone. My 5-mile radius was (and still is) just fine with me. Some would say I was sheltered, but I would say otherwise. We could run the neighborhood until dark and you pretty much ate dinner at whatever house you landed at during dinner time…and dinner meant EVERYONE at the table, eating together, the same food, at the same time.
Good luck to our youngest generation of preteens growing up with all of this judgy messy stuff. Be strong. Be brave. Be true to yourself. Be charasmatic. Be innocent. And never forget to smile.
